Review: GoPro Hero 13 Black - Wisetrips Travel Blog

When my DJI Action 5 camera died on Bora-Bora (after the first swim in the lagoon), I needed a reliable replacement (that can work well underwater).

As I had good luck with GoPro cameras previously, I looked at the following possible replacements:

• GoPro Hero 13 Black - $339 (Costco.com bundle with 2 batteries and 128GB SDXC)
• GoPro Mission 1 Pro - $699

Although the GoPro Mission 1 was higher quality, it was heavier and bulkier, so I decided I did not need the additional weight. I may purchase it in the future.

Highlights

• 5.3K/60 support
• Durable, waterproof design (does not require additional waterproof housing)
• Compact size
• Costco bundle price when purchased: $339, including two batteries and a 128GB card.
  

Lowlights

• Not the best for recording dark scenes
• I would prefer more than two hours of recording time; I have not documented a controlled battery comparison here.
