I returned to Almaden Quicksilver County Park on Saturday, November 7, for a ride on my Specialized S-Works FSR mountain bike. I started around 11:00 a.m., curious to try the new chain that Sports Basement in Almaden had installed and hot-waxed. The bike felt very smooth.
The parking lot is normally completely full by that time, but today there were still spaces available, and I found a nice place to park. The trail was dry and mostly empty, with only a few hikers and a couple of other mountain bikers.
I did not see any animals on this ride. On morning rides, I usually spot deer and occasionally rabbits, but this time the trails were quiet.
